THA.leia product family in the 3rd generation – Developed for critical environments in clinics and hospitals

MCD Medical Computers Deutschland GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of IT-Systems in the health care field, introduces at this year´s MEDICA® in Duesseldorf its brand new designed and expanded product family THA.leia³.

The MCD Medical Line THA.leia3 21.5“, 24“ and 27“ Medical Panel-PCs, designed with regards to user-friendliness and for the application in critical clinical environments, come up with modern high-quality components. Additional to the Intel® Core™ i3, i5 or i7, the Full HD LED displays of these systems ensure clear and smooth working. The glass panels of the displays have a TrueFlat-Design and are rimless. Therefore the front is easy to clean and complies with the protection class IP65. The capacitive function keys which are integrated in the glass front are characterised by an easy usability. All features, for example the on/off key, the ECO-Mode or WiFi can be activated or deactivated also with medical gloves. All capacitive function keys are LED background illuminated and easy to find. All models are equipped with front reading light, as a standard feature. As a result, also in dark environments documents can be viewed or notes can be made. With this light a DIN A4 paper can be illuminated without any problems. The light beam is directed downwards and does not disrupt the patient.

As a responsible manufacturer of IT products we are concerned about the environment. Thus, all products are equipped with an energy-saving mode (ECO-Mode).

Optional PCAP Multi-Touch, optical bonding and DICOM

The optionally available PCAP Multi-Touch enables the operation with up to four contact points without an additional input device. Of course an operation with thin latex gloves is possible. The used projected capacitive touches are characterized by excellent optical features and quick reaction times and thus guarantee an efficient operation.

All models of the THA.leia3 series are also optionally available with optical bonding. Whereby the space between display and front panel is filled up and bonded with a transparent material to improve the optical quality. The result are displays with excellent readability also in extreme lighting conditions, best contrasts as well as very low reflexion.

Also as an option the medical Panel-PCs can be equipped with a DICOM feature and thus ensure the interoperability of DICOM-compatible applications and attached devices in medical imaging.

Fan-less concept in expandable metal housings

The MCD uses especially developed metal housings, which are extremely resistant and show in comparison to plastic materials also after years no embrittlement or bleaching effects. The completely fan-less system removes heat more efficiently from metal housing in comparison to plastic materials, which expands the lifespan of the electronical components.

Despite the fan-less concept, the systems can be expanded comprehensively: a second hard drive, additional interfaces (also galvanically isolated) or appropriate extension cards (additional graphic cards, framegrabber, etc.) via the integrated PCI-slots.

All three models of the THA.leia3 product series are also available as a Thin-Client solution. Thus, it is a cost-efficient alternative and is suitable for server based applications or virtual desktop environments. Control elements and functions are identical with the „Fat Client“ Panel-PC versions and offer the user the same operating comfort.

The list of the optional extensions is long and includes various possibilities: Integration of galvanically isolated serial interfaces for the connection of medical devices, a barcode-/RFID reader, a LCD-Power-Adapter for direct power supply of additionally connected displays, etc.

Together with the new medical Panel PCs the MCD introduces its new series of medical displays in the sizes 21,5”, 24” and 27”. Design and operation elements are identical with the medical Panel-PCs and offer the user a uniform operation and homogenous working environments.

All systems are conform according to the international safety norm EN 60601-1 and EN 60601-1-2. Only if these conditions are met, the systems are authorized to be used in patient-related applications or in connection with a medical device.
