MCD Medical Computers expands Medical Display Portfolio with OMNI.view²

MCD Medical Computers Deutschland GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of IT-Systems in the health care field, expands its medical display portfolio with the series OMNI.view2 in three different screen diagonals and introduces it at this year´s MEDICA®   in Duesseldorf to an audience of professionals for the first time.

The MCD Medical Line OMNI.view2 21.5“, 24“ and 27“ medical displays, designed with regards to user-friendliness and for the application in critical clinical environments, are equipped with powerful Full HD LED-Panels and a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels. The glass panels of the displays have a TrueFlat-Design and are rimless. Therefore the front is easy to clean and complies with the protection class IP65. The capacitive function keys which are integrated in the glass front are characterised by an easy usability. All features, for example the on/off key, the change of the input signal or the activation of the OSD menu can be operated also with medical gloves. All capacitive function keys are LED background illuminated and easy to find.

Optional PCAP Multi-Touch, optical bonding and DICOM

The optionally available PCAP Multi-Touch enables the operation with up to four contact points without an additional input device. Of course an operation with thin latex gloves is possible. The used projected capacitive touches are characterized by excellent optical features and quick reaction times and thus guarantee an efficient operation.

All models of the OMNI.view2 series are also optionally available with optical bonding. Whereby the space between display and front panel is filled up and bonded with a transparent material to improve the optical quality. The results are displays with excellent readability also in extreme lighting conditions, best contrasts as well as very low reflexion.

Robust metal housing for different applications

The MCD uses special developed metal housings, which are extremely resistant and show in comparison to plastic materials also after years no embrittlement or bleaching effects. The products remove heat more efficiently from metal housing in comparison to plastic materials, which expands the lifespan of the electronical components. The slim design of the displays enables different applications: Whether as a workplace on a writing table, mounted on an optional stand or a mobile cart-solution or due to the VESA 100 interface on the rear side for wall- or support arm mounting, the application areas are unlimited.

Diversity of video input signals

The standard Dual-Link DVI input enables the simultaneous reception of analogue and digital image signals and provides at a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) an excellent image quality. Additional to the DVI input, VGA and a display port input are available to complete the compatibility to video signals. In the field of OEM/ODM development for medical device manufacturers, an individual customizing of video interfaces and OSD menus and the individual configuration of capacitive function keys is possible.

Power supply

The power supply of the medical displays is provided via external medical power adapters. Furthermore, the displays can be equipped with an LCD power adapter as an option. Then, the displays are supplied with power via the MCD Medical Line Panel-PCs or Medical Desktop-PCs and an additional power supply is unnecessary.

Application areas

The models of the OMNI.view2 series are suitable for all areas in the daily clinical business. Whether as frontend in surgery rooms, in clean rooms, on intensive care units or in ambulances, for patient monitoring, etc. Due to the brilliant image quality the displays are suitable in the area of endoscopy, ultrasonic and RIS/PACS observation, visualization and documentation.

Together with the new medical displays the MCD introduces its new series of medical Panel PCs in the sizes 21,5”, 24” and 27”. Design and operation elements are identical with the medical displays and offer the user a uniform operation and homogenous working environments.

All systems are conform according to the international safety norms EN 60601-1 and EN 60601-1-2. Only if these conditions are met, the systems are authorized to be used in patient-related applications or in connection with a medical product.
